Hey, Crown Crew! 👑

We're on TV! I had so much fun joining ABC 33/40's Talk of Alabama to talk about my journey, our Hair Crowns, and the amazing community we've built together.

September is Alopecia Awareness Month, so this was an especially meaningful opportunity to share why I love what I do and how we're giving back to women experiencing hair loss.

From Hair School to Hair Crowns

My journey started at hair school in North Dakota. I wanted to be the hairstylist who never told anybody no! Whatever your hair dreams were, I wanted to make them happen.

After moving around the country and eventually settling in California, I found myself doing bridal makeup, then special effects makeup, and finally wigs.

That's when everything clicked. I could create beautiful hairstyles that women could just pop on their heads in seconds. I could be everybody's hairstylist!

Today, our Hair Crowns make it easy to change your look whenever you want. Gorgeous hair without spending your entire morning styling it? Yes, please!

Synthetic Wigs That Make Life Easier

One of the things we talked about on Talk of Alabama was just how far synthetic wigs have come.

Our Crowns use synthetic fibers that hold their style, even when it's humid outside. And if you've ever spent time getting your hair just right only to have Alabama humidity ruin it, you know what a BIG deal that is!

I even shared how I've worn my wigs on roller coasters in Orlando. People always worry they'll fall off, but I've had great experiences with how securely they fit.

That's what I love about Hair Crowns. Take one off at the end of the day, pop it back on the next morning, and you're ready to slay!

I'm Hair For You: Giving Back to Our Community

When I started calling our wigs Hair Crowns, I thought of them as the ultimate accessory. I loved the fashion, the convenience, and the freedom to change your look.

But something really special happened along the way. Women started sharing their stories with me.

There were grandmas who wanted beautiful pictures with their grandkids and young women going through cancer treatment. I heard from women experiencing alopecia and other forms of hair loss, and their stories stayed with me.

That's why we created I'm Hair For You, a program that donates Hair Crowns to people experiencing hair loss.

This community has given us SO much. Being able to give something back means the world to me.

My Advice for First-Time Wig Wearers

If you're new to wigs, I know putting one on for the first time can feel intimidating. Especially if you're experiencing thinning hair and aren't used to seeing yourself with a different hairstyle.

My advice? Start with a lower-density Crown. That means the hair isn't quite as thick or full, which can make the transition feel more natural.

And give yourself a little grace! Trying on a wig can be like getting bangs for the first time. Sometimes you need a minute to get used to the new look.

Put on your makeup, throw on an outfit you love, and step back from the mirror. Then go shopping, meet a friend for happy hour, or get out and enjoy yourself. Sometimes a few compliments from strangers are exactly what you need!

Thank You, Crown Crew!

One of my favorite parts of the interview was getting to share stories from real CSC customers, including women whose lives have been touched by alopecia.

Hearing how our Crowns have helped them feel beautiful, try new styles, and make lasting friendships reminds me why this community is so special.

Thank you to ABC 33/40 for having me, and thank YOU for being part of this journey. Whether you wear wigs for fashion, convenience, hair loss, or just because you feel like changing things up, there's always room for you in the Crown Crew!
